One-Year Anniversary of FDA Actos Cancer Warning
Actos heart failure is among the several significant Actos side effects associated with the Type II diabetes drug. The more commonly discussed side effect of pioglitazone is Actos cancer, particularly bladder cancer. Medical studies have revealed that patients who use Actos for 12 months or more face a 40% greater risk of developing bladder cancer. This research prompted the FDA to require additional warnings on the Actos label in 2011. In addition to bladder cancer and congestive heart failure, Actos has also been linked to liver disease and bone injuries in female patients.
