New Legislation May Impact Generic Reglan Lawsuits
Reglan and its generic versions have been linked with severe side effects such as tardive dyskinesia – a serious and often permanent movement disorder. Patients who took the drug and suffered injuries are seeking compensation via jury awards or Reglan settlements. New rules for generic warning labels are currently being considered by federal regulators. This may reverse the Supreme Court decision in Pliva v Mensing, which ruled that makers of generic medications could not be held liable in a court of law as long as their warning labels matched the brand-name drug. This pending legislation will have an impact on cases involving generic versions filed by a Reglan lawyer.
